This Chocolate Coconut scrub with only a few basic ingredients you probably already have in your pantry, and in less than 10 minutes you can make a huge batch from start to finish. This decadent little scrub will leave your skin super smooth.

Why Use Sugar Scrubs?

Sugar scrubs are ideal for "stimulating and increasing blood circulation" for a healthy glow.

  • Sugar has a natural anti-aging effect on the skin. It does not allow toxins to attack your skin cells, so it helps to slow down the aging process.
  • Sugar scrubs are mild and help remove dead skin. They also help rejuvenate the skin by cleaning all the dirt from the skin's pores. With all the dead skin and dirt removed, the new skin is more radiant and you have a healthier glow.

What's  In Chocolate Coconut Sugar Scrub?

The magic of this intensely moisturizing sugar scrub recipe is in the ingredients.

Dark Brown Sugar - Brown sugar has natural exfoliation that helps to moisturize and even skin tone.

Coconut Oil - Coconut oil contains nourishing fatty acids that help hydrate and protect the skin. These include vitamin E, which helps the skin retain moisture, and lauric acid, which has antibacterial properties.

Almond Oil - This oil can improve complexion and skin tone. Almond oil also helps to balance the absorption of moisture and water loss.

Cocoa Powder - Cocoa powder increases blood flow to the skin, resulting in a healthier, more radiant complexion

How to Make A Chocolate Coconut Sugar Scrub
  • Add all ingredients together in a large bowl and mix by hand, hand mixer, or stand mixer until just combined.
  • Place sugar scrub in a container, or mason jar with a lid.

Ingredients:
  • 1 cup dark brown sugar
  • 2 tablespoons unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1/3 cup almond oil
  • 1/2 cup coconut oil
  • Few drops of coconut extract or almond extract(optional)
Instructions:

  2. Homemade sugar scrubs will last around 2 months in an airtight jar or container in the refrigerator.

Notes:
  • If you have never used a sugar scrub, go easy on your skin, scrub gently, and rinse thoroughly.

  • The sugar granules might make your skin feel sticky, so be sure to rinse thoroughly after you've exfoliated. Be careful if using the scrub in the shower, as the oil can make the floor a bit slippery.
