Making homemade room sprays with essential oils is a great way to add nontoxic fragrance to a room. This scented spray is made with only three simple ingredients! Give your linens, bedroom, or even the air at home a refreshing spritz without using harsh chemicals.
What I love about using essential oils, they inspire memories, trigger moods, and speak to us in ways words often can’t. Essential oils can help you to customize your atmosphere by bringing uplifting, calming, or energizing aromas into the room.
What's in this Room Spray with Essential Oils
Three Ingredients is all it takes to make this Room spray
- Essential Oils - What are Essential oils? Essential oils are compounds extracted from plants. The oils capture the plant's scent and flavor, or “essence.”
- Distilled water - Distilled water goes through a distilling process that removes the water's impurities along with all the minerals.
- Emulsifier - An emulsifier is anything that will allow you to mix oil and water. Witch hazel, rubbing alcohol, and vodka are the best choices for emulsifiers for essential oils and water.
How to Make Room Spray with Essential Oils
Start with clean glass spray bottles. Why Glass Bottles? Sunlight can accelerate the expiration of the oil. To avoid deterioration and protect the aromatic and therapeutic properties of your essential oils, store them in amber or cobalt blue bottles.
- Add essential oils and witch hazel, rubbing alcohol, or vodka into the glass bottle. When I ordered my 4 oz. glass bottles this handy little funnel came with the order, you get these bottles here.
- Add the water to the bottle next, cover, and give a quick shake. That's all it takes.
Essential Oil Blends
Energizing Blend - Lemon and Rosemary - 10 drops of each oil
Invigorating Blend - Lemon and Eucalyptus - 10 drops of each oil
Spicy Citrus Blend - Ginger 9 drops, Orange 6 drops, Lemon 6 drops
