Copycat Bisquick baking mix consists of flour, shortening/or butter, salt, sugar, and baking powder. I think one of the best parts of this mix is that you know exactly what goes into it. This Copycat "Bisquick" Baking Mix Recipe is a great way to save money! It also allows you to control the type of flour that you use. You could easily substitute gluten-free flour or whole wheat flour.








How to Make Copycat Bisquick Baking Mix

  • Place the flour, sugar, salt, and baking powder in a bowl or food processor and pulse for just a minute.
  • Add your butter or shortening until it is fully combined. That's it, you have a Homemade Baking Mix.
Place homemade Baking Mix into an airtight container and store it within the refrigerator for up to 3 months.

How to use Homemade Bisquick Baking Mix

Pancakes
2 cup Homemade Baking Mix
1 cup milk
2 eggs
  • Grease or spray griddle or skillet
  • Stir all ingredients until blended. 
  • Pour by slightly less than 1/4 cupfuls onto a hot griddle
  • Cook until edges are dry. Turn; cook until golden.



Biscuits 
2 1/4 cups Homemade Baking Mix
2/3 cup milk
  • Heat oven to 450°F. In a medium bowl, stir ingredients until soft dough forms.
  • Turn dough onto a surface dusted with Homemade Baking mix. Knead 10 times. Roll dough 1/2 inch thick. Cut with 2 1/2-inch cutter. Place on an ungreased cookie sheet.
  • Bake 8 to 10 minutes or until golden brown.

  2. Add your butter or shortening until it is fully combined.
  3. Once done place in an airtight container. Store the homemade Bisquick in the refrigerator for up to three months
