Store-bought taco seasoning packet mix is loaded with sodium, MSG, and other additives that you probably don’t want to think about, let alone eat.
Making your own seasoning mix also means you can customize it to your personal tastes. Made of natural spices, this recipe creates the most delicious dishes ever! It goes on any kind of meat.
Making Homemade Taco Seasoning
Gather all ingredients, and whisk completely.
For more spice in your taco seasoning, add a little more Chipotle chile powder.
I use 1 tablespoon to a pound of meat, and 1/2 cup water.
This recipe makes approximately 8 tablespoons or a little less than 1/2 cup.
Taco seasoning is good for a few months in an airtight container.

Easy Homemade Taco Seasoning without all the fillers and additives from the store-bought packets.
Ingredients:
- 2 tablespoons chili powder
- 2 tablespoons garlic powder
- 2 tablespoons ground cumin
- 1 tablespoon smoky paprika
- 1 teaspoon cayenne pepper
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes
- 1/2 teaspoon sea salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/2 teaspoon Mexican oregano
- 1 tablespoon Chipotle Chile Powder
Instructions:
- Place all ingredients in a bowl and whisk slowly to combine well. Transfer to a jar with a lid and use it as need it.
- Store in an airtight container. Seasoning should be good for 2 months.
- Use 1 tablespoon of seasoning for every pound of meat, and 1/2 cup of water to incorporate the seasoning into the meat. Use more seasoning if you want a little more spice to your tacos.
